When Making Friends is Not So Easy: Learning how to make friends and keep them
Through the use of creative therapy (art, music, dramatics) combined with cognitive behavioral therapy, the group will focus on increasing self-confidence, learning and practicing how to show someone you would like to be friends, understanding the best ways to be a friend and ways to settle arguments with friends.
Who: Boys and Girls, Ages 8-11
When: Tuesdays Weekly for 6 weeks (beginning June 29, 2010)
Time: 3:30pm-5:00pm
Cost: $240 per person ($40/grp)
Hilary Katz is a Licensed and School Certified Social Worker who has been working with children for over 10 years. She specializes in the use of creative cognitive therapy when working with children, encouraging a child to gather more adaptive coping skills and apply them in their lives. She connects with children through use of humor, creativity, and flexibility, understanding there is no cookie cutter approach to helping a child/teen reach their highest emotional potential.
